About PCORE
PCORE is a Web-based portal housing a set of five interactive education modules, an electronic library, and online evidence-based point of care tools and patient education in primary care.
Students in the Clerkship in Primary Care at Columbia P&S are based at one of 22 clinical sites scattered across the United States. A web-based education initiative to provide a standardized primary care curriculum to the students commenced in 2005, with the support of the Dorothy Schiff Foundation, the Columbia University Primary Care Education and Research Gift Fund, and Dr. Rebecca Kurth. Interdisciplinary and departmental collaborations between the Center for Family and Community Medicine, the Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning, the Center for Education Research and Evaluation, the P&S Department of Psychiatry, the P&S Division of General Medicine, the P&S Department of Community Pediatrics, and the Clinical Practice 3 Course has resulted in the launching of PCORE on June 30, 2008.
